How to boost up restaurant business post Covid 19
The global pandemic, Covid-19 has surely made the restaurant
industry look entirely different. Lots of changes have happened in short period
of time and these changes are to stay for a longer while. Market researchers
have shown restaurant business will deteriorate with recession and high record
unemployment. So True code would like to share some tips to new entrepreneurs
to make diners feel safe with all possible means.
1.
Sanitation is key: According to the latest market research, two
out of five customers would like to hear about sanitation and safety of the
place they choose dine. Safety and sanitation details should be communicated
effectively to ensure minimum contact between people. So that people will not
fear contracting Covid-19
2.
No self-service: Self serviced condiments like
sugar packets, straws, salt and pepper bottles are commonly kept and used in
most of the restaurants and fast food chains. Everyone going through the same
unit of condiments would rather increase the contact of virus. Technology has
improved accordingly helping out chains like Coca cola, with dispensers that
work with QR code. Staffs could be allotted other self-served system like
buffets etc. This way diners become more comfortable and feel safe.
3.
Enforce the usage of masks and other safety
wears: Food safety and security and authority guidelines already forces enough
on gloves, hairnets etc. while production of food items and serving them.
Enforcing masks with all the other accessories including gloves would improve
cleanliness and safeties. There would be little risk of contracting the virus.
4.
Keeping distance: A safety bubble is mandatory
for at least the time being. A fair distance of 2 meters should be maintained
between the customers and staffs. The seating arrangements should be changed in
such away (preferably 6ft apart) that there is enough distance.
5.
Compete with the other retailers: As safety is
the important word in everything and everywhere right now, use it as a measure
to compete with the other retailers who offer the same service as you. Go a
step ahead in safety measures and the services offered like meal plans and kits
or even groceries. Even after everything reopens restaurants should keep these
services as an option for additional revenues.
6.
Systematic cleaning and sanitizing: While many
trusts that restaurants are taking care of the cleanliness needs religiously
others would like make sure that it is happening like they want in front of
them Two third of the customers would like to get a visibility in the cleaning
procedures of the restaurants and reassure that everything around them is Covid
free. Reassurance could be provided through visual cues like cleaning,
handwashing, sanitizing etc. from time to time in the presence of consumers.
